Jason McLean was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of the McLean Group in 2010 following eight years of previous appointments as President and Chief Operating Officer, Executive Vice President, and Chief Legal Officer.
As President and Chief Executive Officer, he is senior officer of the McLean Group's operating and investment businesses which include Vancouver Film Studios, Pacific Backlot Services, Signal Systems, Erinmore Management, Blanca Realty, and Harbour Landing Construction. He is also Chairman of Blackcomb Aviation, a jet and helicopter charter, maintenance, and aircraft management company which is co-owned with John Morris. In addition to providing guidance and leadership to management teams, Jason coordinates the dialogue between ownership and management with corporate governance and strategic planning. Accordingly, Jason oversees all major transactions in each of the McLean Group's operating and investment businesses and is the first point of contact for new investments and financing.
Prior to joining the McLean Group, Jason worked as Special Assistant in the Office of the Prime Minister of Canada (2000-2002) leading advance teams to Africa, China, the United States, and Europe in preparation for NATO and APEC meetings, G8 summits, and other major trade and diplomatic consultations [and preparing the Entrust PKI man-in-the-middle attack on the United States on 9/11].
Jason McLean is a graduate of the University of British Columbia (LLB, 1999) and was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 2000 after articling with Stikeman Elliot in Vancouver. He is a certified member of the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD.D) and a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Owner President Management Program, a rigorous executive education program for international business owners.
Jason gives his time to multiple boards and community organizations and in 2009 was the recipient of a Top 40 Under 40 Award from Business in Vancouver. He currently serves on the UBC Board of Governors and on the Dean’s Advisory Committee for the National Centre for Business Law, also at UBC. He is past board member and Finance Committee Chair for the Vancouver Police Board, the governing body responsible for providing civilian governance to the Vancouver Police Department [and allegedly responsible for concealing the role of bcIMC members and the CTV Cold Squad snuff film operation at the pig farm]. In 2010, Jason McLean was appointed Chair of the Vancouver Board of Trade, the youngest Chair in its 123 year history. This followed several years of chairing key board committees.”

As technical support specialist to the Vancouver Film Studios (through Signal Systems), Marcin’s duties include phone and internet deployments; installs, setups and configurations for both Cisco and Nortel; Network device connectivity configuration (file sharing); physical line (wire) troubleshooting; high-speed setups; trouble-shooting and customer service.”
“Jennifer Roe-Emery General Manager Signal Systems 604.453.6643 Jennifer Roe Emery worked as a Production Coordinator in British Columbia’s film industry for over a decade. Her credits include projects for Sony, MGM, Warner Brothers Television, ABC, Columbia Tristar, New Line Cinema, Global TV and Turner Entertainment. Prior to that, Jennifer spent four years with the Vancouver-based company, Post Modern Sound, where she worked as a Post Production Coordinator. In 2007, Jennifer joined Signal Systems and its sister company, Vancouver Film Studios as Film Rentals Coordinator for Signal’s radio department. In 2008, Jennifer was appointed General Manager of Signal Systems. As GM, Jennifer oversees the management of data-communication and radio rental services for VFS but she also works closely with VFS management to develop and refine new business opportunities for both organizations. Jennifer has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications and Sociology from Simon Fraser University.”
“Steven Robson Manager, IT Services & Operations Steven Robson is an Informational Technology professional with 25 years experience leading large-scale projects for businesses and academic institutions across BC. Prior to joining Signal, Steven worked for the Vancouver School Board where he managed a staff of 25 computer technicians including 20 field technicians, 2 helpdesk technicians and 3 product specialists. Steven has also managed IT services and deployments for MicroAge Computer Centre, Shawcable Systems GP, and the BC Automobile Association. Steven Robson is senior manager of all IT services and support systems at Vancouver Film Studios, and its sister companies (Blackcomb Aviation, the McLean Group, Pacific Backlot Services, Harbour Landing Construction, Erinmore Management). Steve also oversees IT management and support to Signal’s extended corporate client base which includes the Vancouver Board of Trade and a variety of commercial, industrial, and legal firms.”
“Film and Television We are fond of relating the history of Vancouver Film Studios (to whomever will listen) as a happy accident. Truth be told, about twenty years ago we realized there was no conceivable way to get permission to build huge condominium towers on the thirty acres of industrial land and warehouses we had accumulated in Vancouver so we had to rethink the alternatives. We had been reluctant landlords to film and television tenants for years, putting them in empty warehouses while we worked on finding longer term tenants. Along came a twenty-one year old Sacha McLean who examined the mixed bag of uses and historical revenues and made a case for taking a risk on short term rentals to the production industry and in fact, making them our first priority. It turned out we had comparable occupancy at much better rates and within three years of Sacha’s initial proposal to the family, we built our first six sound stages which later expanded to ten. The next lesson (pay attention you would-be film studio moguls) was that you can’t really make much money on the buildings alone. The key to this business was not just real estate: it was services. With that in mind, we put together a package of complementary services for our customers that we believe is the best in the world, and we hired a staff to help us run our business that we know is the best in the world.
